Questions

high holy gamoly days.....

My aunt wants me to bring a string bean dish to Rosh Hashanah dinner.

Besides the nasty string bean casserole with Cambell's cream of mushroom soup and fried onions, is there anything else you can do with string beans?

And while you are thinking of good recipes, is there any good recipes that would be appropriate, but vegetarian and wheat and dairy free - tall order, but my humble reality.....helllllpppp!

Ha! That recipe goes well with the "jello salad" and velveeta dip. I have two ideas for you

sesame green beans
I havent tried this recipe, but this is the idea

Also, 3 bean salad
steam the beans, cut them up
add 1 can garbanzos, 1 can kidneys
add balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and Italian spices
Marinate overnight

thanks Deb. i ended up getting off the hook for the string beans, and instead brought some homemade pear sauce. it was a really nice addition and twist to applesauce. and it just sounds sooo fancy.
